Weight Loss

What is Semaglutide?

Semaglutide is a medication used primarily to treat type 2 diabetes and, more recently, obesity. It belongs to a class of drugs known as GLP-1 receptor agonists (glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists). Semaglutide works by mimicking the effects of the GLP-1 hormone, which is naturally produced in the body.

Semaglutide is administered via injection, typically once a week, and is part of a broader treatment plan that includes diet and exercise.

What is Tirzepatide?

Tirzepatide is a medication primarily used to treat type 2 diabetes and is currently being explored for its potential in weight management and obesity. Similarly to semaglutide, it belongs to a new class of drugs known as dual GIP/GLP-1 receptor agonists. However, Tirzepatide works by mimicking the actions of not one but two natural hormones, GIP (glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide) and GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1), both of which play important roles in regulating blood sugar levels and metabolism.

Now that both drugs are becoming more popular and commonly used for aesthetic purposes, patients are finding new confidence and self of self worth through the weight loss these once weekly injections bring!
